Multi-junction solar cells offer a great possibility to increase the efficiency of commercial Si photovoltaic devices by adding additional semiconductors with different band gaps and thus, covering a broader region of the solar spectrum. In order to reach maximum efficiency, the front contact of the solar cell is of high interest, since it provides an additional resistance in the circuit of the cell and can diminish the current flow drastically.

This presentation focuses on different treatment methods of a nanoparticle copper ink, but also on laser sintering parameters that were used for claiming a contact resistivity of copper on GaAs lower than 0.01 ohm/cm2.
