Parameter-driven monitoring of LED packages

The aim of this work is to provide a reliable monitoring of the transient temperature-sensitive electrical parameters (TSEP) of LED packages that serve to quantify changes in the long-term operation of such LED packages. It will be explained how the chosen monitoring approach combines three major requirements: (i) Capability to interpret temperature transients in terms of relevant physical processes in the package, in particular to check failure mechanisms of a semiconductor device; (ii) Suitability for inline monitoring including on-the-fly compact modelling on the basis of RC networks with structure function; (iii) Identification of correlations between the transient TSEP with aging phenomena.
