Static and Dynamic Properties of Alloys Based on Fe₃Si and Fe₃Al

Fe3Si and Fe3Al crystallize in DO3-type of structure. Their basic magnetic properties are quite similar, band structures are very much alike as well. However, surprising differences appear in mechanical properties, and in the way the impurities are entering crystallographic sites in the alloys. My talk will try to review experimental and theoretical results of investigations of the preferential occupation of sites by the impurities, and the spin dynamics of these alloys with special emphasis on the dynamics of the alloy called Sendust.
