The work is related to the fundamental question why the molecule anthraceneqinone show only one crystal structure, and no additional polymorph phase could be found so far. The master project should explore if a substrate-induced phase can be found by crystallization at surfaces. Thin films will be prepared by solution processing and the preparation conditions (solvent, deposition methods, temperature) will be systematically varied. The crystalline properties of the thin films will be characterized by X-ray diffraction techniques. For that purpose, grazing incidence X-ray diffraction experiments will be performed at the beamline XRD1, synchrotron Elettra, Trieste.
