Quantum cascade devices pose a great opportunity to revolutionize sensing applications. Mid-infrared light can efficiently be generated and detected with one material system, allowing for cost-efficient production and lab-on-a-chip sensors. Molecules show strong and distinct absorption behavior in the mid-IR spectral region, which can be targeted using QC lasers. In this work a small and stable QCLD sensor for liquid absorption analysis is presented.
