There are many challenges in designing analog mixed-signal circuits based on ultra-scaled CMOS technologies, i.e., metal-oxide field effect transistors (MOSFETs). One challenge is that the design of these MOSFETS and related circuits must also consider a reliable long-term operation upfront. This work introduces new tools to monitor suitable operation conditions and establish geometry constraints for MOSFETs in circuits within the framework of computer-aided design (CAD). In addition, a feasible recipe is introduced that offers the possibility to restrict the operation condition to the regime of maximum intrinsic gain.
