Small angle X-ray scattering is an X-ray technique with a transmission geometry used to obtain structural information and interesting parameters like the specific surface area or the average particle shape and size. The specific surface area describes the interface area between 2 phases per mass of the investigated sample. It is an important Parameter in a variety of different scientific and industrial applications. Porod derived the theoretical foundation which contains the relation between the measured intensity and the specific surface area.
In my talk, I will provide the basics of small angle X-ray scattering, the mathematical derivation of the used Porod Law as well as the scattering curves and the analytic results of several materials.
