Luminescent sensing of chemical parameters and temperature Luminescent sensors enjoyed increasing popularity in the last decades and now provide a viable alternative to conventional analytical tools. Some of them have been commercialized and are now routinely applied in various fields of science and technology. On the other hand, for many analytes and applications the state-of-the-art materials are not yet good enough which stimulates intensive research in this field. The talk provides an introduction to the basic principles of luminescent sensing and highlights some of the sensing materials developed at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Food Chemistry, Graz University of Technology. |
