Ongoing research in the μ-CT Lab at TU Graz tries to find out where water can impinge in a paper
sample. This research led to the follow up question of how paper behaves under the influence of
humidity. To realize measurements of paper under the influence of humidity the first step is to
create a stable, humid environment. To do so, a bifold system of controlled air flow is implemented
to either increase or decrease the humidity of air. The amount of airflow is controlled with a PID
controller, and the dried or humidified air is directed to a reservoir, where a paper sample can be
exposed to a predetermined humidity and measured under the influence of those conditions.
